I can’t tell if Milly is a hair wizard or a curl whisperer OR a mix of both. Either way, I walked out of Thrive the most excited about my hair than I have been in a long time! I booked an appointment with Alex after she posted in a Nanaimo women’s group on Facebook. I have naturally wavy hair and wanted it cut to a short, above the shoulder length bob with some layers. She did a perfect job! I am so happy with my hair now. She also explained how to style my hair to suit my natural waves, which I really appreciated. She gave me some tips I hadn’t heard before and I’m excited to try them myself at home. Everyone at the salon was so sweet and accommodating as well. I had to bring my 11 month old daughter with me and all the stylists were so kind and sweet to her. I really felt taken care of. I will definitely go back and will refer others to Thrive!

The fall is one of my favourite times to get a haircut. Especially when it’s been rainy and dreary. This fall I wanted to change. I’ve always had long hair, but never wear it down always up in a bun or a pony. I decided to make an appointment with my favourite hairstylist, Mercedes and let her decide my fate. I wasn’t disappointed. She gave me a scalp treatment that was to die for. In total, we cut about 4 to 5 inches offs. Cede put in lovely, easy layers. And…very soft bangs! I love it! As I left the salon, I felt like a whole new me! The sun was out, the air was crisp, my hair felt light and shiny and new… And I was thriving!! ♥️

Won’t go anywhere else! Cheri is absolutely amazing, she is so experienced and knows exactly what she’s doing. Her confidence shines through, which makes me as a customer feel so confident going to her. She listens to your wants and also offers her expertise which I appreciate. The salon is beautiful, cleanly, and they offer coffee/tea/water upon arrival which is a nice added touch. Overall very happy and will continue to go to Thrive!

Perfect! I was visiting from out of town for a wedding, and multiple problems occurred and I was not able to wash my hair! I have a short, curly bob with fringe, and was on day 5 since wash day. My curls needed some hydration and styling! Alex was so helpful, gave a glorious head massage, and even styled/dried my hair how I normally do (most of the time when I get my hair done, they style it differently and it never looks right to me), so that it looked \"normal\" for the wedding!

Cheri and her team are always amazing! I’ve been using Cheri for over 9 years and have trusted her to make some pretty big changes over the years. It always turns out fantastic! Thrive is the only hair salon I’ve been to that I never feel regret after the initial cut and style; my hair looks and feels good even when I lazily wash and air dry. The atmosphere at Thrive is so relaxing and all the staff members are warm and welcoming. I have also been buying my hair care products from Thrive over the last couple years and really love what has been recommended to me.

Mabel, who I see, and everyone at Thrive are friendly and welcoming. It is really appreciated too that Mabel is patient and kind when explaining something like Balayage. She has a lot of training and skill when addressing my wants, needs, and ok… insecurities around colouring… as a redhead. I also really like paying by the hour. It leads to a lot of flexibility and keeps the appointments unrushed and relaxed.
